The Gorean Public Boards were created in order for those of a serious Gorean nature to discuss and learn from each other. It is the intention of the proprietors to ensure that those who have an interest in developing their understanding of what is known as the Gorean philosophy (at whichever level that may be) may do so without fear of being shunned or belittled.

That being said, however, it is NOT the intention of the proprietors that the GPB become a substitute for reading the books and drawing ones own philosophical conclusions. Nor is it the intention of the proprietors to help foster and further the incidences of role-playing. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES LIFESTYLERS AND DO NOT CARE FOR DISCUSSIONS PERTAINING TO ROLE-PLAYING (other than in the context of it’s (im) practicalities and concerns to lifestylers) OR ANY OTHER KIND OF PRETENCE.

It is the intention of the proprietors to observe certain conventions. The most obvious of these conventions is the method of differentiating between those who are free and those who are slave. While neither a capped nick or a lowercase nick may necessarily denote a free person or slave, it is the convention of choice. A slave is to be mindful of their station, and therefore speak in the third person. Use of lazy, grammatically incorrect A/all, Y/you, F/free, S/slave is not to be used. Owned slaves are to be identified as such ie: slave{Owner}.

Needless to say, because the proprietors choose to observe these conventions, all shall observe this same conventions.

The nature of our lifestyle is such that certain demands and expectations to not distort that which you learn or have learned will be placed upon you. It is not our intention to wet-nurse anyone who does not show a sincere desire to learn and share valid opinions and philosophical conclusions.

It will be the intention of those who frequent this BBS to test you from time to time. If you find yourself being tested we urge you to remember that the word stranger, to Goreans, is the same as enemy. Understand that you may be challenged for your stated beliefs and opinions and that if you are a stranger to some or all you are likely to be challenged and tested in a more vigorous way than those who you might ordinarily see posting.

Of course, just because you are not a stranger does not mean you won’t feel like you’re an enemy from time to time.

While we do not officially invite free women/slaves (or those who would have us believe they are free women/slaves) to participate in the discussions which appear on the GPB from time to time, we certainly allow them to do so.

NOTE: We allow free women and slaves to participate, providing slaves do not enter conversations of and by Freemen, where not specifically invited.

It is important that you understand that you are expected to remember your place at all times. If you are told to be aware of your tone or that it is a displeasing tone you will find ways to correct yourself or you will be silent.

It is our intention and desire to enjoy the input of females, however, there is no reason which will be accepted or tolerated for the departure by any woman of her chosen station. If you depart from your chosen station, you will be advised without hesitation and you will correct yourself or be silent. Period.

It is not our intention to encourage a departure from your status by permitting you to post your thoughts here.

With the exception of status of free over slave, there are no females who have authority here.

Those who have an appreciation for that which is commonly referred to as the Gorean philosophy will enjoy this service. Those who only have a desire enact fantasies, divert from their status (particularly the status of slave) or flavour BDSM and other sexual kinks will find the GPB somewhat less enjoyable than the aforementioned group.

If it is your intention to bring matters concerning children/minors to the GPB it will be the intention of the proprietors to report you to the appropriate child protection authority in your locality. It is also the intention of the proprietors to bring your activities to the attention of your Internet Service Provider. If you are a young adult, but, still considered a minor by our standards (i.e. if you are under 18 years of age) you will be removed from the GPB and even your ability to access the site on a read only basis will be removed.

You are reminded that this is a private BBS. It is not the intention of the proprietors to provide a public forum for all and sundry. The term Gorean PUBLIC Boards is taken from book #25, Magicians, and means that it is a notice board as referred to in the source books, not that this forum is a right of any, but instead a privilege. If you are found lacking (as judged by we, your peers or masters) you will find yourself removed at the sole discretion of the proprietors.
