Kiddies in the Kitchen

Submitted by venus {beloved kajira of Master Warrior^}

With back to school upon us it is important to spend the evening getting the most out of the time we have with our children. My son and I find quality time in the kitchen before dinner. He makes little snacks that are healthy and creative. Not to mention the opportunity for a learning experience.

Why cook with your child? It is just plain ol' good fun and a good way to be close to your child.

They will learn science concepts as they see physical changes and chemical changes that occur during cooking.

They practice math and reading skill in exciting meaningful ways.

They develop good work habits as they follow direction in sequential order.

Cooking builds self-confidence as your child successfully prepares recipes.

You can teach your child about nutritious foods and good eating habits as you choose the recipes to cook.

They can learn about good manners when serving their dishes to others

And don't forget…COOKING IS CREATIVE!
