Tal Bear,

I have today had a look around some of your impressive web work concerning things Gorean. Thanks you for your efforts. I have a question for you, for which I hope you can supply an answer.

I am looking for a place in which free persons compare notes on how they rate their enjoyment of the various Gor books, for example, which ones are their favorites or least favorites. I have not seen such a place in many hours of searching, and wonder if one exists. If it does, I have somehow missed it, and would appreciate any pointers in helping me find it.

My biggest reason for wanting something like this is to discover how many others share my appreciation of books #17 & 18 above all of the others. I wonder if I am one of the few, or if there is a substantial number of fellow-admirers. I have seen the website devoted to the Barrens and the Isbu Kaila, and enjoyed it.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide, I will continue to check in on the Gorean Voice. I wish you well,

Marc

Hello Marc,

I am pleased that you found the #silk&Steel website interesting and enlightening. A lot of hard work has gone into it over the years, from those who write on it to those who set it up, but most of the credit has to go to our WebMaster, _Marcus_, who aside from his obvious artistic talent, has a very deep appreciation, concern and knowledge of things Gorean.

As far as your question goes, there are several places to go to discuss the books, on IRC I suggest #silk&Steel on irc.austnet.org:6667. It is a lifestyle discussion channel, where people sit and talk about things that affect them as they strive to live a Gorean life in this society. I have yet to find a Gorean lifestyle who will not at some point, enjoy a good discussion or debate on the merits (literary or not) of the novels. ;0)

Second, I also suggest THE GOREAN PUBLIC BOARDS. The link to this is on the first page of the Voice. There you will find lifestylers, fans of the fiction, gamers and role-players discussing the issues that concern them. Jump in and start a thread.

I hope this answered your question, and enjoy this issue of THE GOREAN VOICE.
