A Tarn’s Eye View Tal! Welcome to the 87th issue of The Gorean Voice.
Please note that our email notification system is back up! You can now sign-up to receive an email when each issue of The Gorean Voice is available for viewing! As usual, your confidentiality is respected when you sign up. In this Issue Vanion contributes again to the Art department, with a look at the effects of a Lingering Caress. Ever wonder where the Sardar Mountains are located? Gorean fandom may never know for sure, but this month the Geography department considers that question. In the Recipes department, holly{B} evokes the farmer’s markets that bring fresh and home-canned goods into the cities and alongside popular roadways. This month she not only explains how you, too, can do canning safely at home, but she gives recipes that are sure to please the family long after the fresh fruit and vegetable season is over. The Health department gives ways to assist in the relief efforts uderway following the Katrina disaster - this is one of the many ways that Goreans can respond to regional crises. This just in from the Crossword Puzzles department: “Kind Greetings!! I am very excited this month. I have put the puzzle on a different program which should be accessible to everyone!! No more Internet Explorer “only” puzzle!! Please try this month’s ONLINE puzzle and give me your feedback please. All you have to do is click on a numbered square and it will turn red and highlight the clue (across or down). If you do not see the entire puzzle, you may have to “refresh” the page a couple times and use the arrows. This month we find a lot of fighting involving the Salarian Federation and we find Jason hunting everywhere for Miss Beverly Henderson. Does he find her? Find out in this month’s new puzzle program with only 36 words. The new jigsaw is a bit of a challenge showing the fighting and burning of cities at 500 pieces! Please enjoy and thank you most kindly for your continued support.” prism encourages ways to confront Self-Doubt in the Cross-Roads department. In the Booknotes department, Socrates continues Guardsman of Gor, xxx. The Guest department welcomes back Luther, who offers a differing view of Gorean greetings. As readers recall, the Guest department has just completed a three-installment work by Makaku Oyami exploring the uses of “Tal” and “Greetings” in the Gor series in the context of status-based speech etiquette. Luther examines the use of a third greeting and then advances very different conclusions regarding the uses of “Tal” and “Greetings”. The Slave Heart department offers ideas from kaylee{G} on Perceptioons of Reality.
Watch for This The Kajira Korner and Pleasure Gardens departments will return. Because there are always proposed contributions in progress, The Gorean Voice is preparing other really nice surprises for you as well.
Possibilities for Contributors There are many possibilities for contributors. If any of these departments appeals to you as a place where you might find a writing or other artistic niche, and of course, if you have ideas for a new feature and are willing to help, then read the guidelines for authors and let us know! Although some possibilities are more appropriate for one person to manage over time, many departments benefit from many contributors. Even if you are thinking about contributing only once, say, through Gorean humor or a book review or perhaps a poem, you should still contact me.
I wish you well, Hersius
