Seasons Hello Readers, Ladies, Here we go for another month, and what makes this month most important for many is the fact a new school season begins. As we prepare our children with backpacks, rulers, paper, pens, and supplies the world has turmoil abound. Racks of clothing come out two weeks prior and we as parents begin to outfit out children for the coming year. Jeans, and shirts, and socks, all things we find to be a cost but necessary. In my home country an 11 year old girl is laying in a hospital shot in the back from militia forces that can not for the life of them find peace. The only thought I can bare is was she ready for school, and how can someone take away such innocence from a child. The fact is in many parts of the world they are war torn. What we have taken for granted is a sheer luxury in other countries. War has no age limit, this is certain. This season I pray for the folks that don`t have it as easy as we do, and that my part in giving to the community will be not to take for granted all that I as a parent can offer my sons. I am grateful that a philosophy I live my life by is not forced from me. That I can live my ethics, and my choices as I see fit. It is not so with many people around the world. They live in seclusion fromrights of freedom. From the choices we often take for granted. It makes my heart sad. I am blessed that as a woman I have the choice to be a provider to my sons, and still feel the feminine side of my nature. Gor has allowed me that insight, and freedom. "Gorean morality encourages honor, courage, hardness and strength. To Gorean morality, many Earth moralities might ask. " Why so hard?. To these Earth moralities, the Gorean ethos might ask, "Why so soft?" Marauders of Gor page 4 I find even in free countries that there are looters, and builders. The looters take what does not belong to them by sneaking around in the middle of the night. A thief so to speak, a builder works for himself, for the delight of striving to meet his goals. Perhaps if we had applied our world powers to other countries in education then builders would no longer be the minority. Who is to guess on these matters? Ayn Rand who was the famous author to Atlas Shrugged, wrote a book in the 40s described such a place. A place of builders winning, and looters losing. I think that she was more Gorean then anything else. In her writing she showed a softer side to women regardless of the careers, and a place women should be. Behind great men, striving to help them achieve their goals. "Philosophy studies the fundamental nature of existence, of man, and of mans relationship to existence. As against the special sciences, which deal only with particular aspects, philosophy deals with those aspects of the universe which pertain to everything that exists. In the realm of cognition, the special sciences are the trees, but philosophy is the soil which makes the forest possible." -- Ayn Rand, "Philosophy: Who Needs It," With that said, I will wrap up this article by saying, enjoy this season a day at a time, savoring every moment we have with the ones we love. Finding passion in what we believe, and desire to succeed. Nyre Intended of Lion nyre@home.com |
