Tal Bear,

I enjoyed reading your latest edition. Your Musings about the sea touched me. I often sit and ponder the immensity of the Atlantic and wonder if it is like the mighty Thassa in its moods.

I (and many interested readers) are trying to get information of the release date of the newest novel "Witness of Gor." I went to the Vision web site and read the sad news about the delays for both the book and the Gor magazine. I would really appreciate you keeping us apprised of the status of the publication dates. They indicate there is a way to order direct, but their web site does not have the necessary information. They also indicate there is an excerpt from the novel, but no link is available.

Let us continue our quest on how to live the Gorean codes in 1999. For it is by our actions and words that we can influence others.

Bob

And Bear- replies

Tal Bob. Thanks for the kind words about last months Musings. I make no claim to be a poet, but I think laying eyes and dipping feet into the ocean for the first time has made a change in me, and I am glad that I went. As for the new novel, please read the special report in this issue about GOR MAGAZINE, and keep an eye out next month for more information from the publisher as we get it - including hopefully an interview with the man who is behind the push to get the newest Gor Novel into print. Again, thank you for you kind words, and enjoy reading THE GOREAN VOICE.

Tal !

Frankly looking back over an entire year's worth of reading the GV I can honestly say that it has consistently improved. The GV STARTED at a very high level indeed and has gone on to bring great joy to me and addressing more and more that which concerns me.

I live the Gorean lifestyle with my slave. In real life. I have rarely made an appearance at the S&S however I do fondly recall laughing until the black wine spewed from my mouth as Bear gave us all a rendition of his "ass" song as I had been admiring the ass of a slut in the tavern.

I found tessa's column very informative and moving and certainly is a help for not just slaves but for the Masters to read as well.

I also wish to commend Opal and the other free lady for really helping to dispel the NEGATIVE attitude I had held towards the "free women" one all too frequently encounters on-line.

sherilyn's horoscope I enjoy very much and glad to see the moon phases covered as well.

I think I best stop here for I am, LOL, going to be going down the list of EVERY single department saying how much I enjoyed them and got out of them.....

One quick question Bear mentions Austnet now on my Irc it says Australia....is that accessible freely as Dal.net is or is there a charge of some sort for accessing it?

I wish you well,

Kaledorus

And Bear- replies

Tal Kaledorus. I am gratified to hear that you enjoy the VOICE, and the small staff here works very hard each month to bring it to you. Thank you for your support. Yes, Austnet is a freenet much like Dal.net is in the US. I can suggest a few servers for you to try: ca.austnet.org, or us.austnet.org (that is Canada and the US, respectively). When you connect, stop on by the #silk&Steel channel there, it is a Gorean Lifestyle Discussion channel (the first of its kind) and you can usually find people in there to discuss, answer questions and chat with on various Gorean topics.

Greetings Master Bear,

I was reading your musings and unfortunately found most to be right on the money!

I say unfortunately because it gives real life slave a bad name.

I would however like to comment on your interpretation of what "yes Master, but" means. What you say might be true for many or even most, yet on the other hand, when I say such to my Master it is because, although I totally obey, I am not in the class of the Stepford wives.

I follow my Masters orders, requests, and demands to the T without question. That is the main reason I am allowed to remain his slave, I am also his slave because I have the ability to be mentally stimulating when he desires such. I do not obey because I am frightened of him; I do so because it pleases him and that allows me to be the slave I have, before my Master, only dreamt of.

Thus, the "but", word.

Gorean men / Masters do not frighten me, the gamers do, for they have no conception of the depth of the reality with a Master and slave.

I beg you Master Bear not to think this note to be disrespectful, I only wished to convey there are some things that are not simply black and white, but, then if they were, what a boring world this would be.

respectfully

talei{T} owned always and all ways by Master Tharll

I don't know if you remember, I had sent you one of my poems months ago, "words of a slave"

I am very grateful you printed it. Thank you Master Bear

be well

And Bear- replies

Hello girl. If you felt that the thrust of my article was in support of a race of "Stepford" slaves, and that the "Yes Master, but..." example given was anything except an illustration of a girl who chooses to fail, then I suspect you did not read the article very well. You missed the point, while honestly being threatened by its topic and content - so much so that *you* feel the need to publicly illuminate and defend your situation. Think about that, girl.

I suggest you re-read the article, then discuss it with your owner. If you or he then are still unclear and wish to discuss it with me, I will be happy to do so on #Silk&Steel the Austnet Lifestyle Discussion channel where you can ask your questions in a more immediate manner.

I am an avid GOR reader and have been since I read my first GOR book in 1980. I have all of the books that John Norman has written and I have been waiting a very long time for the next book for my collection. Unfortunately, I have just become able to search for info on the Internet. I am very glad to have found this site so soon and have learned a lot from reading it. I want to thank you all for your efforts to keep the GOR tradition alive. I am going to subscribe to the GOR magazine, and of course, get the next book when available. Thanks again for all of your hard work. There are still people out here who are just not connected and don't know how to find out what's going on so don't lose hope.

Thanks, Tim

And Bear- replies

Tal Tim. Thanks for the pat on the back, we do appreciate them - they make up for the total lack of pay we receive in putting this magazine together each month. ;0) I urge you to read the special article this month on VISION ENTERTAINMENT, and keep your fingers crossed that by next month we can get more specific information to you from the publisher. We all wish the publisher and author well on their struggle to get the next novel and GOR MAGAZINE published, and we will help them in whatever way we can to accomplish this. Keep reading, we hope to have a lot more to say on this, soon.
