The Heart of a Woman
This month I decided to share one of my favorite authors rather then go into a dialect of free women and their purpose. We have already encompassed such ideals, and have delivered the message that women, free, desire and need just as those who choose enslavement. We have discovered through self-awareness those needs have little difference accept by action. We have reasoned that the label of woman has many faces, and many names thus leading us to never truly understand the entirety of women as a whole. We know the need, the drive, the reaction, and expectations of what is required of us in this philosophy, now it is time simply to enjoy this month and think of seasons passing. Passages written by Kahil Gibran "And my heart bled within me; for you can only be free when even the desire of seeking freedom becomes a harness to you, and when you cease to speak of freedom as a goal and a fulfillment." "You shall be free indeed when your days are not without a care nor your nights without a want and a grief". Definitions and the understanding of the above passage leads us to the freedom we own in ourselves. Freedom as Gibran explains is a path of many desires, many needs that lead us to that knowledge of numerous things for achievement. Inside we must know and feel we are truly free to understand its logical purposes. To apply this reality to our existence, and finally to live it simply without knowing it. "Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding". "Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain". "Much of your pain is self-chosen". Without pain in our lives, the balance would be forever lost, and as women we strive for that balance, always seeking more, knowing that higher planes do exist. For we know with pain as the counter measure, joy succeeds. Try this month to avert away from disaster to revel in change and unique experiences. To enhance your day simply by walking ten minutes or enjoying a sunset alone with your thoughts. This inner peace will restore all that pain has taken. It will restore the woman inside. "Pleasure is a freedom song, But it is not freedom. It is the blossoming of your desires, But it is not their fruit. It is a depth calling unto a height, But it is not the deep nor the high. It is the caged taking wing, But it is not space encompassed. Ay, in very truth, pleasure is a freedom-song. And I fain would have you sing it with fullness of heart; yet I would not have you lose your hearts in the singing. Some of your youth seek pleasure as if it were all, and they are judged and rebuked. I would not judge nor rebuke them. I would have them seek. For they shall find pleasure, but not her alone: Seven are her sisters, and the least of them is more beautiful than pleasure. Have you not heard of the man who was digging in the earth for roots and found a treasure? And some of your elders remember pleasures with regret like wrongs committed in drunkenness. But regret is the beclouding of the mind and not its chastisement. They should remember their pleasures with gratitude, as they would the harvest of a summer. Yet if it comforts them to regret, let them be comforted. And there are among you those who are neither young to seek nor old to remember; And in their fear of seeking and remembering they shun all pleasures, lest they neglect the spirit or offend against it. But even in their foregoing is their pleasure. And thus they too find a treasure though they dig for roots with quivering hands. But tell me, who is he that can offend the spirit? Shall the nightingale offend the stillness of the night, or the firefly the stars? And shall your flame or your smoke burden the wind? Think you the spirit is a still pool which you can trouble with a staff? Often times in denying yourself pleasure you do but store the desire in the recesses of your being. Who knows but that which seems omitted today, waits for tomorrow?". It is by truth and devotion we as women serve best, free, slave either. For a woman is a woman, as simply as that. Dont wait for tomorrow to be that better person, or that better mother, do it today while the sun still burns, live today while breath still exhales from your body. There may not be a tomorrow to wait for. "Even your body knows its heritage and its rightful need and will not be deceived". She smiles, I find this passage an exact statement of absolution. This man is not of Gor, yet he realizes that within us as women and men we have needs that are of natural design. That even if the mind deceives, the body knows otherwise its needs and wants. How silly of us to try to avert our eyes from such poetic revelation in recognizing the truth of our biology. "And your body is the harp of your soul, And it is yours to bring forth sweet music from it or confused sounds. And now you ask in your heart, "How shall we distinguish that which is good in pleasure from that which is not good?" If lies, and deception are part of our reality this would determine what is bad in our lives, and the pleasure we have received from such, is false. To live by illusion is not to live at all, it is simply a waste of time. Recognize the weakness of wasting time, and correct it in a moral fashion. This would allow yourself to look in a mirror with pride at the person staring back. Allow yourself truth, and in that you will find the good. "Go to your fields and your gardens, and you shall learn that it is the pleasure of the bee to gather honey of the flower, But it is also the pleasure of the flower to yield its honey to the bee. For to the bee a flower is a fountain of life, And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love, And to both, bee and flower, the giving and the receiving of pleasure is a need and an ecstasy. People of Orphalese, be in your pleasures like the flowers and the bees." If it could be only so easy that we the people could and would find the needs and desires we hold so closely to be fulfilled beyond our wildest imagination. And within that fulfilment we find we can act in a moral fashion in the pursuit of worthy gains wthout the heedless actions that make the savage within us rear its ugly head. This month find the peace of being free within your heart, accept it, and allow nothing to determine otherwise. Be pleasing to your mates, but most of all be pleasing to your own sence of self worth. In the simple gestures of life you will find solace for your inner spirit. It will strengthen you as a woman, and remind you of all the benefits your presence brings as a lady.
