What does it mean to focus?

Often times as slave girls the word "focus" is brought up in conversation, discussion, and training. We are taught from the very first day that our focus as slaves is to be pleasing to the free.

Focus- the point where rays of light, heat, ect. come together, specifically, the point where rays of reflected or refracted light meet. Focal length. An adjustment of this to make a clear image. Any center of activity, attention, ect. To bring into focus. To adjust the focal length of the eye, a lens. To concentrate. - Webster’s New World Dictionary, page 231

The definition of focus correlates to "anything that may be the center of activity, attention, ect, to bring into focus." Through this definition we may conclude, that to focus, means to serve with all of your attention, intelligence, heart, emotion, soul and body. In whatever way the Master or Mistress you kneel before chooses for you to do.

Focus is a subject that is discussed widely throughout the training of a slave girl. We find ourselves kneeling to the free in hopes of being found pleasing to there wants and needs. In essence focus is an integral part of the slave girls life whether it be online or offline.

Focus of the slave girl is an integral part of her role in the Gorean society. In many ways it becomes one of the leading points of her service to the free. Each task, serve, movement, and breathe she utters becomes part of herself in the process of growing on the journey of becoming a better kajira.

Throughout the books we see many different aspects used in order to improve the manner in which a slave could please a Master. Below is an example of girls being sent to a fair, in which they are looked upon by men, while being able to show there assets. Thereby making them more aware of themselves and the delights they may bring a man.

Not only the one she has displeased, but others may as well if its a severe crime. Lack of focus can often times bring much discipline to an errant girl.

A girl needs to have a focal point in order to concentrate on what is important at each moment when in service at the feet of the free. Ideally this becomes an ingrained trait within each slave. While other things must be trained specifically to a specific owners wishes.

The focal point of a slaves service may be any number of things in which she excels. This could include massage, dance, a sexy serve, poetry, whispering quietly, or just laying quiet at his feet for his pleasure.

There are those that are considered love slaves. There only true Master is the person they shall love for the rest of there lives. As this passage from the book demonstrates. The love slave is more within her Masters power and he must be strong and true to his beliefs with her. The concentration in which one gives as a love slave is total and absolute.

The focus on the sexual aspect of a kajira’s slavery is perhaps one of the many processes that several girls struggle with. The idea of giving themselves over to men as a slave, slut, or beast can be at times psychologically confusing. In order to be totally focused and have concentration, one must be strong with themself. If this is not the case, you will always lose the focus somewhere along the line and end up back at point one once more.

A girl, now having been with Master Randy for a month in RT, comes online only to find on the various boards the ongoing hysterics that seem to prevail at "Gorean" chat sites. Always she seeks that bit of truth and reality that marks the difference between playing and the life as Master/slave.

Having visited other Free and slaves in RT, she now can see that there is no basis in these sites for the lifestyle that she is coming to know so well.

Yes, she is slave to her Master and any free person, but the dramatics and hysterics that are ongoing in these sites have no basis in what it truly means to be slave or free.

The day to day interaction of serving when as slave she might be dead tired, or not well make it apparent that the flowery words and actions of many slaves and Masters are only a game... yes, she said game.

You can shoot her, or flame her, but underneath all of this online silliness is one missing ingredient...love and a sense of belonging.

A slave can’t help but love her owner, how else could she put herself aside and serve him so completely and selflessly? This is not only bonita’s belief but one that is shared by those slaves she knows in RT.

A Master might or might not "love" his slave, but in this one's opinion from her observations, she finds that most do... yet there is always that separation between them... Master is always Master, bonita is always slave.. and yes she does speak in third person in RT because it pleases her Master for her to do so.

There is no way that web based Gor will ever be able to be lifestyle... the reasons are as diverse as are those of us who live it. How could you capture the flavor and feelings that come from living as you truly are... slave and Master or Free Woman?

There is a gentleness in RT that is sorely missing in the vast majority of web based interactions she has seen and been involved in.

Now for the admission. This one was a gamer and player when she came to Gor, but then many are to start with.. it takes time to learn the reality of Gor and then even longer to acknowledge it to first yourself and then to others in RT.

If you who are reading this don't believe that one can live the Gorean lifestyle in RT, you are sadly mistaken and blind to the truth of the philosophy.

This one wishes that all who seek this life find their way and are fortunate enough to find Free and slaves along your path to help you in your quest. This one was blessed beyond measure to be led, taught, pulled and challenged to make her dream a reality, may you each find the same growth if it is your dream.
