Tal and greetings, Whew ... We have managed to provide the Gorean community for 24 consecutive months, 2 long years, an on-time, timely, and what we hope is a valid, and useful piece of work. I can't say it has been easy, and not without challenges, but without YOU, the faithful readers, and YOU the faithful writers, contributors and authors, there would be no reason for us to have put this together, at all. I'd like youall to stand up and take a bow ... YOU are appreciated! This month we are happy to introduce to you some new events. Up front is Daniel, starting in this issue a new fiction serial entitled "Origins" Also with a debut this issue is a new column by Strummer focusing on Gorean music, and for 6 months a new original midi composed by him ~ check that out! Also check out the Spotlight, an important analysis of a misunderstood element of Gor, as well as the feature article which analyses the recent Salon article. See some original art in picture this Check out the cartoons contest results and see the winners, and Opals cartoons, as well All in all, I think this issue is the biggest, (some 25 plus features, for your enjoyment) the best, and most interesting issue weve put together to date, we hope you like it ~ Enjoy! Take some time and peruse it all! I wish you well, Pantheus
Last month we asked "Where Were You 2 Years Ago" and you were invited to send your thoughts to Opal .. well, in spite of not receiving any replies, here is Opals response. "When I was asked to compile this column, I took a stroll through the archives back to the first issue of The Gorean Voice. Two years doesnt seem like a great deal of time, but looking at that first issue, we've come a long way!" "That first issue consisted of 13 pages of which 4 related to archives, guidelines, tospit award and Vision, not a lot of content! We now average approximately 22 pages, 18 of them full of information and entertainment, and our readership is in the many thousands. Not too shabby for something that was once just a vision of two men." "We have lost some good people along the way; who can forget waiting eagerly for the next Valerus Mystery from laisha/cerisa, and the witty humor that could only come from Mastiff ?; Zebs BookNotes are sorely missed and we have had many requests for them to be reinstated." "But in loss there is gain, some wonderful new writers have joined us and shared their views on the philosophy and lifestyle, our brains are teased by the puzzle page, we can laugh (or not) at the jokes, eat well, and see what tomorrow will bring by consulting the horoscope." I wish you well, Opal |
