I was in a discussion recently where the word doormat was used to refer to what gorean slaves wanted to be for the men who shared with them this lifestyle.

This quote was in channel by the writer of the Salon article prior to the publication.

There is no truth to this blatantly false statement at all. I wish to address this issue along with some quotes from the books and the differences that we have to apply to our lives in order to live this philosophy in our daily lives.

To understand this philosophy one must have read and to have studied all the books to see the differences that are apparent. And at the very least to have read most of the books.

In the books rarely was anything owed to a slave because she was a slave and had been made a slave by men. She had no choice in the decision of being a slave in the books absent her courting, begging or the showing of acts that showed her to be suitable for the collar and the brand. Here in our lifestyle we allow slaves to access the natural order that they feel that they truly are, slave, that is contained within their minds, hearts and bellies. True slaves burn to serve their true masters.

I believe that there are many duties a master has to be responsible for doing because in many situations he is the only person who can do such duties. Responsibility is imposed on a master to a greater degree to use good judgment in his decision making process. This would include the maintenance of the home for the good of all that live below the roof. The support of the home is one of a master’s prime duties as he may at times be the sole support in a home. Necessities have to be provided for the general welfare of those beneath the shelter of the roof. Protection of the home and care for health of his slave is important. Without the support and protection of the home the relationship of master/slave may only be temporary. A master must also exercise good judgment in his decisions where he interacts with the public, he is responsible. In the books we were told that the slave was the most precious of properties. In some situations in the books the slaves were the most protected of all properties and the last to be given up. A slave may work outside the home to serve her master. In many cases this is good for the long term welfare of those involved. People must think of the time for when they are to retire. Working and paying the required taxes enables the earner and the beneficiary to enjoy some of the proceeds of their work later in life. It’s not just about the present that we enjoy, it is necessary to think of the future as well.

We have known of the sad loss here in the community, of people, we live and we die in ways that are not in the books. The stabilization serums mentioned in the books are nothing but fiction. It is very important that there be close friends in the community that men and women can trust for when those bad times arrive. And some slaves will have to make decisions at times. A slave needs money and access to it at times, there is no way she should be penniless or lack access to money.

Slaves desire to seek the comfort of the arms of a man who is strong and true to his natural desires to enjoy her in accordance with the natural order of men and women. Slaves sleep with their masters here on earth in a bed and not usually in a concrete kennel, as they might be confined in, as described in a fictional place from a group of fictional books. And slaves do tend to warm the bed well.

It is pleasant to have breakfast in bed, so to speak, with a naked young lady, especially when she is chained by the neck to your slave ring. - Guardsman of Gor page 295

Men find a woman who can be true to themselves who have accepted in their minds, hearts and bellies that they are what they are in fact and in their helpless desire to be, a slave, to be the most desired of women because they can’t help living as they wish too, as a slave.

“How can a girl who is only a slave be of interest?” she asked. “Your question is foolish” I said. “all men desire a slave or slaves, it is their nature. Thus, that a woman is a slave, even in itself, makes her extraordinarily interesting. Her slavery itself, apart from her intelligence or beauty, is found extremely provocative and exciting to a male, because of his nature”. “But aren’t free women more interesting” she asked. “All women are interesting,” I said. “But consider the matter objectively. Anything that was interesting about you when you were free remains interesting about you now. But now you are additionally interesting because you are in helpless bondage”. - Beasts of Gor 274 -275

In the above quote we see reference to man’s nature as fueling his desire for slaves. Why would a man wish to deny to a women her place in the natural order that she has claimed for herself by the act of her own self avowal of being a slave to men? It would seem to me to be a harsh cruelty to deny such a woman her place in nature that she has proudly and just as brazenly proclaimed her desire to serve her master.

To keep the master/slave focus directed it takes the positive effort of both parties. There will be times when the relationship seems to be more like a vanilla lifestyle , especially if there are children around. The use of code gestures and words can be a useful communication tool which can keep the focus directed during times where the master/slave natural contact might best be avoided, as where children are present . Perhaps order juice for breakfast and watch to see what happens to the eyes of your girl. There are times where patience is needed and to wait for a girl to serve, because she has been doing her assigned duties or caring for a child. The time to light the lamp of love will arrive.

In a family house, of course, girls are almost always modestly garbed. In an offline master/ slave relationship the primary purpose of the slave is to serve her master. Serving the master is whatever assignment of duties and directions to the slave girl, who is subject to his will, and how the master wants the duties to be done. He may give her a great amount of power to decide how she accomplishes these tasks. A master appreciates an intelligent slave who can do her assigned tasks well.

Education for children in the home is important and as they reach certain stages of development they should be taught what they can understand. For many years they will read and write on a grade level which will limit their knowledge of the outside world. As children they should be allowed to be children and protection from the dangers of the outside world is warranted . Watch what they are interested in, as it is best that they not find the slave bracelets and take them to school for show and tell. Strengthen the child’s resolve to live with ethics and honestly . There is a big difference between lying to a child and protecting a child from a harsh truth that they can not comprehend. With many matters adults can teach children much in the home or of the outside world as it may be best at times.

The gorean master/slave relationship is based on an older belief in living life based on the natural order of men and women. And in that order the man is dominant and the female is submissive. The history of the earth has many cultures that still hold to this view. This choice is made by those to live the philosophy of gor. rather than of living as we might be told to live, instead of living ‘our lives’ as we desire to live.

“ I know of a world where such things, in a sense, are often done,” I said, “a world in which, for political purposes, and to further the interests and ambitions of certain factions, there are wholesale attempts to suppress, thwart, and deny manhood. This results, of course, also in the cessation or diminishment of womanhood, but that does not concern the factions as it is only their own interests which are of importance to them”. - Magicians of Gor page 461

There are women here on earth that desire to be what they feel in their minds, hearts, and bellies, slaves with a true desire to serve men. To be owned fully and to feel the liberation of what the natural order can bring to their unique lives and to the men that they love.

The true slave is within the woman. She knows it is there. She will not be happy until she terminates inward dissonances, until she casts out rending contradictions, until she achieves emotional, moral, physiological and psychological consistency, until she surrenders to her inward truths. - Vagabonds of Gor page 41

Does a master need to trust his slave. I believe that he must or why would he want her in his home. He will trust her to make good judgments ( I know that’s a funny way of saying that, however the truth is she will have to) in everyday life. And the slave must trust her master in all matters as he guides her to her liberation.

In a gorean master/slave relationship, the master provides the strength, leadership, support, and encouragement to the slave. The desire of the Master to see his slave be pleasing and her desire to serve him well is what will make the relationship work. The slave is directed by the master through her love, loyalty and commitment.

Some men will admit that they love their slaves. How could a man love a doormat? There is no way that the term doormat as applied to a gorean slave girl can be correct. She is owned, she has worth to her owner and to his home and family. She is a pleasure for a man to own. And for a women it is pleasurable to be owned fully and to have a feeling of belonging to a man. A doormat has a use and is discarded with ease, a slave girl has value as a precious piece of property, for as long as she obeys. A slave girl has chosen not to have the conflicts that afflict vanilla relationships.

The heart to Goreans, as to certain of those of Earth, is understood as a symbol of love. The life of a slave girl, of course, is understood, too, as a life of love. - Rogue of Gor page 280

I think much! I am dutiful! I want to make a man happy, truly happy, in the fullest dimensions of his being, not a part of him, leaving the rest to hide. Or shrivel and die. I cannot know my bondage if he does not learn his mastery. Why should his birthright be denied to him, and mine to me? As a master needs a slave so, too, the slave needs the master.” - Magicians of Gor page 192

“Then I am beautiful enough and intelligent enough to be a slave,” she said. “Yes,” I said. She sobbed. “Beauty and intelligence are all well and good,” I said, `“but the best slave is she who loves most deeply.” “My master will be all to me”, she said. - Magicians of Gor page 204

I conclude with the observation that gor is not just about slaves or sex, it is much more profound way of life. What gor means to each of us can be different for each man and woman, however it is a way of life that involves honor, trust, one’s duty, their loyalty to commitments, personal responsibility and making the correct decisions of everyday life. The lifestyle is about the relationship between men and women that you either feel within you and understand what it means or you do not. Online is a communication tool that we use to speak through to others of like minds. We live most of our daily lives offline living as we have chosen and also face many of the very same issues that everybody else does in this world. To view slaves as having .... an innate wish to be a doormat ... is just uninformed as to how the lifestyle is lived. Slaves do have an innate desire to serve men, as their slaves. Men do enjoy allowing slaves to be what they are in an innate way, as well After all innate is defined as inborn, existing and arising from the mind.

It’s a full time experience that is not turned on and off.
