A Tarn’s Eye View Tal! Welcome to the May, 2006 edition, which is Volume VIII Issue 11, and is the 95th issue of The Gorean Voice. This issue is a short one, due mainly to several of us having major computer problems. Next month, we should be back to our customary length. We continue to be pleased at the response to the email notification system that we put in place last year! For those of you just discovering The Gorean Voice, you can receive an email when each issue of The Gorean Voice is available for viewing, so if you have not already done so, please sign up! As always, your confidentiality is honored when you sign up. We wish to remind readers wishing to reprint our articles that, as the Guidelines state, copyright is retained by the individual authors. Any requests to reprint sent to the editor will be forwarded to the author - or, if the author has provided a contact address in the article, the author can be contacted directly. One advantage of requesting permission is to then be able to honestly use the phrase, after giving the author proper credit for the authorship, “Reprinted with permission.” We would also appreciate the additional acknowledgment, “This article first appeared in The Gorean Voice.”
In this Issue In the Booknotes department, Socrates completes Blood Brothers of Gor, where we meet an old friend and an old enemy, and old enemies become new friends, and new friends remain old enemies ... oh, just read it! In the Maps department, Xerxex gives us a view of a pass which could very well be what a portion of Boswell Pass looks like. This just in from Mishel and the Crossword Puzzles department: “Tal and kind greetings!! This month we start with Savages of Gor, Chapters 1-10. Who is Tarl seeking? Does he find him? Where is he going? Does he make it? Find out in this month’s puzzle of only 54 words. See the kailiauk run in this month’s jigsaw puzzle of only 135 pieces! I am still working on the Archive page. It should be up and running soon.” If we have more submissions for this month, we will put them up and announce them. We send our best wishes to holly, as she will not be returning to the Recipes department. She has been an enthusiastic contributer, and we will miss working with her.
Watch for This The Art, Geography, Recipes, Crossroads, and Health departments will return next month! We have someone to revive the Tarot department! This should start next month! Because there are always proposed contributions in progress, The Gorean Voice is preparing other really nice surprises for you as well.
Possibilities for Contributors There are many possibilities for contributors. If any of these departments appeals to you as a place where you might find a writing or other artistic niche, and of course, if you have ideas for a new feature and are willing to help, then read the guidelines for authors and let us know! Although some possibilities are more appropriate for one person to manage over time, many departments benefit from many contributors. Even if you are thinking about contributing only once, say, through Gorean humor or a book review or perhaps a poem, you should still contact me.
I wish you well, Hersius
