journey.jpg - 19579 Bytes The journey
-by caite` -

From the moment of conception we begin our life path. One that is filled with treacherous curves, steep inclines and icy roads as well as paths that are smooth and grassy. Each of us armed with what we fondly call, biological predispositions as well as inherent needs. Blended from our parents life force and a sprinkling of fate.

Many believe that we begin to learn before we ever even see the light of day. caite doesn't know, but she can say from the moment we exit the warmth of the womb, we begin our life long quest for knowledge. In the beginning we are assisted by adults to guide us. Sometimes they lead us on the right path and sometimes on a path of darkness.

Our formative years... once again Fates hand caresses as our daily life experiences mold and enhance our core being, for better or worse. Each of us striving to define ourselves. Each of us rebelling in our own unique way as we continue to seek our truths. Ignoring the wisdom of others, fully believing that we forge our own path as we wonder at the aloneness...slowly becoming independent as we build our skills. The lessons that we learn may be similar during this time but how we are taught is very different. And that impacts us as well. Moreover, a lesson that one may find of paramount import is tossed away as irrelevant by another for no apparent reason.

This continues our entire life. Ever present fate deciding the direction of our journey. We balk, take detours... but somehow we always find ourselves right back on the same road. There are those that believe we are offered three roads which we may choose to travel upon. While others simply believe that we travel in a circle...that our end will return us to our beginning. caite personally believes that each of us have a purpose to fufill...a destiny. How we get there is by our own choice...along with fate of course.

We have all wound up on a common path of slavery. To be more specific, we are kajira.

There are, in this ones estimation, two types of non-forced slaves which exist within society. One was created by external forces and the other is purely biological, they were born with the heart of a slave. Both born of earth. Both craving to serve, but for different reasons. It is this difference which will make the journey of one much more challenging.

The slave borne from the hardships of her life. This slave may come from an abusive upbringing or a broken home. The slave borne from society searches for acceptance, security, guidance, someone to take responsibility for her and for her actions...and from what caite has seen, this slave is the one that has a higher probability of becoming the proverbial doormat. In some ways, one could say this slave is searching for more of a Caretaker not a Master. Is she still a slave? This one believes this type of girl is a slave...for she has such a desire to please. This one would also venture to say that this slave will also be more inclined to making mistakes, if for no other reason than to gain attention. Again, a taught response from society. her life be harder because it is not her heart that sings the joys of her submission, but a gnawing ache which begs to be loved and will accept any form of acknowledgment. This slave will sup ravenously on any scrap that is thrown to her. In a way, she gives in order that she may take. caite believes that this slave is more fragile, for her self esteem typically is lower, needs more reassurance...and will be more prone to break, unable to withstand the rigors of Gorean slavery. caites heart hurts for these precious souls that society has victimized. But on a positive note, with the right Master who can remold this slave into something quite beautiful...and allow her to fulfill her destiny, which is to be a slave.

The slave whose heart is filled with her submission also has a tough road to travel. she is slave because it is an inherent need to serve. In giving her needs are filled. caite does not believe this is just limited to serving a Man. This sort of slave tends to be more philanthropic in general, wishing to care and give to those in need.

But, nothing compares or even comes close to the wonderful feeling of fulfilling the desires of ones love Master. Which with fate smiling, each type of slave may experience.

On earth are their true gorean kajira? caite thinks not. Our very environment prohibits such a creature from living upon earth. Can there be slaves on earth in western society? No, society prohibits this. What caite believes is that a hybrid slave, one from the philosophies of Gor and one who may walk in the sunshine of her world has been borne. This slave is enslaved by her heart and belly and mind.

These slaves walk in two worlds...their existing society and the gorean subculture. Making the phrase 'just a slave' pretty much obsolete. For very few are that. They are mothers, professionals, Sunday school teachers, wiccans, volunteers...and if called upon are warriors. Quite often it is necessary that they cloak their belly and become assertive in order to survive in the world we are in.

In addition to daily life each of us who choose to be labeled slave struggle daily on a path of self perfection. caite thinks this is something unique to slavery. We make cognizant decisions on how to perfect ourselves to be more desirable to the one who has imprinted themselves upon us...our Masters. we are selfless in our actions. caite believes slaves are chameleons. They have the wonderful ability to change based upon the situation they find themselves placed in. They are creators of beauty...they are creatures of beauty. They are slave.
