Welcome to the May issue of THE GOREAN VOICE. This is our eleventh issue in a row, without missing a month, and you know what that means.... next month marks our one-year anniversary. No other Gorean online publication has been active and publishing that long! We want to take this opportunity to thank all the fine writers who have given their time and effort to make this the most popular Gorean publication - outside of the books themselves - in history. We want to thank those who came to us with comments, suggestions and criticisms, all are listened to and appreciated. Keep them coming!

But most of all we want to thank you, the reader. Without you, our dream of a monthly publication for fans of the novels and lifestylers would never have become a reality. With your help, we were able to lift the concept of a Gorean publication from the morass of bile it had become (and still is, in some places) to something that we all, as a community, can be proud of.

Thank you all, very much for your support. We look forward to an even better second year!

On to news!

Last month I mentioned that there were several web sites that offered the entire text of the Gor novels, at least the first 5 or so, for download in a .zip file or for a text read. I noted that this was against the law, and that the ones who are doing so, even ignorantly, could be facing a lawsuit.

Since that time I have again been in contact with those who are overseeing such things for John Norman and I am pleased to report that these sites are all off the net - many times with the *entire* web site of the people along with it! Some of these people indeed, I am told by their ISP, have been banned from ever using that ISP again.

The people who are looking into this for the author have site names, ISP's channel names and nicks/real names. I *urge* you to reconsider, before you transmit or download this stealing of the authors work and money due him to consider what you are doing. Not only would you perhaps find yourself in court, but the publishers who are looking to publish book #26 are watching this, and it will become more difficult for them to justify putting money into publishing a book that some stupid thief is just going to transcribe and give out for free on the net in a few weeks.

Like many things dealing with Gor and living Gorean. This is a matter of honor, and those who transmit and spread copies of the works of John Norman in violation of his copyright, stealing from him monies that are rightfully due him, simply have none.
