I have been commissioned to write an article explaining the difference between the various collars and silks on ircGor. There seems to be some confusion about these things, and understandably. I believe the problem is simply that certain so called "Goreans" found online limit themselves to what they read in the books - a particularly close-minded approach that embarrasses we True Groeans because we have to share that title with them. It is a constant source of amazement to me that such Goerans choose to adopt what they read in fictional books, and not the perfectly acceptable rules (which, need I remind you, are included for the protection of slave and free-person alike!) found on irc - rules which have been proved to work.

But I do not mean to speak disrespectfully of those lying, conniving, evil, pig-headed, ignorant, self-professed Georans, and as such, I would hope that should you be one of those Greoans, you will forgive me if I have inadvertently insulted your high-and-mightyness, because I did not mean to as this disclaimer proves.

So to the purpose of this article. First, I will explain the collars. Next month, I will cover the silks. Here, the letter "X" refers to a Master's initial or some such. I have not covered the "{tc}", "{tC}w", "{Tc}wt", "{TC}r" and other variations of "tc", used by #theChain. This channel has some particularly unique collar variations which I think we could all benefit from, assuming we can remember them all.

Goeran Ko-lars.

|X| - This somewhat unusual collar variation should not be scoffed at when found. Commonly considered to mean, "my Master has no clue about what a collar should look like", we should attempt to make allowances for this. After all, someone new to Gore has the right to make a collar anyway he wants.

|X} - This one is somewhat confusing. It either means that when the slave put on her collar as she changed to her on-line character, it didn't quite go on "straight", hence this typo. It is just a typo, of course, so the slave should not be punished. I recommend you politely suggest she straighten it. Watch as she "blushes and obeys the Master". It is confusing because it could also mean that someone of the previous collar type has decided to compromise with conventional collars, on learning that there is actually a convention (of sorts - and a flexible one at that. We are open-minded).

X{slavename} - This convention is growing in popularity. In the books, the slave wears the collar with the Master's name inscribed. On ircGor, however, we like to be original (the books are out of date in any event, and we must move with the times).

{X}w - The typical WHITE SILK collar. This means that the collared slave is a white silk girl. This means that she may not lap, serve bazi tea, or kiss, except when it's her Master she is serving, in which case she may do anything she wants, and he may even take her to the alcoves as long as he asks her first.

{X}wt - The typical WHITE SILK training collar. As WHITE SILK above, but everyone should show this girl particular respect and kindness, because she's new. We were all new once, remember.

{X}wtr - This means WHITE SILK RESTRICTED, I think. I'm not entirely sure, so I suggest you just treat such a girl as if she was some really expensive and fragile crystal ornament, to be on the safe side.

{X}r - Ahhh, the RED SILK. Unrestricted (within reason. If you're not sure, ask the girl.) Red silk girls are great news, because it means you can take them to the alcoves, even if you don't own them! Because they are such special girls, they commonly have ops. They are therefore able to protect themselves from the HNGs who think they can take advantage of the fact that they are un-restricted slaves. Likewise, if they are not treated with the respect their position deserves, they will kick. Expect to see most of the #Silk&Steel ops on their ban list, and quite right too.

{X}rr - The RED SILK restricted girl. As above, except that she's restricted (see white silk above).

{X}rt - RED SILK trainer. This girl is great value to a tavern or inn or glade or dwelling or home or FORTRESS or castle or dungeon, as this girl can train a slave in the way to please men! (That's very Gorena, so that's good.) She will show a slave how to dance, serve in the correct way, and other such things. It is sad how many slaves don't know the correct way to serve. A RED SILK trainer in YOUR castle will have all your slaves serving with the 3 heart beats of devotion, 3 moons of Gore, 3 steps of slave submission, and the often-forgotten 3 bows of respect (bow once in return, Masters).

{X}wrtr - Er...I forget this one.

{X}rtwrstets - Er....I think this one means it's a red-trainer-white-ristricted-silk-terror-elf-trainer-slave. Very rare, and very, very valuable. Treat with utmost respect, as she's undoubtedly better than you are. She is probably the founder of the channel, if not the entire net.

{X}tSilk&Steelrassholes - This one is becoming more and more popular. Certain girls, in training or trainers, are restricted from certain channels, written on their collars as seen here. This girl, as you see, is a "r" or "red silk". "asshole" refers to this particular girls sexual preference, and "s" at the end means that she sucks, too.

And finally,

{X} - This will occasionally be seen in certain channels. Note the complete lack of useful letters after the collar. If you see such a collar in any channel, it is best to turn around and walk out again - the groeans in here are not True Georan Masters and subs, because they are close-minded.
