Hersius Speaks

Tal and welcome to the 70th issue of The Gorean Voice.

In this Issue

Socrates begins his Booknotes for Beasts of Gor.

We celebrate the return of Nyre to the Philosophy department. Nyre managed or contributed to the Free Woman department from November 1998 through October 2001, comanaged the Debate department from December 1999 through January 2001, and has contributed to the Feature, Guest, and Poetry departments as well. This month, she presents Gorean philosophy as being its own system, and from this stand-alone basis Nyre promises to explore its many facets in future issues.

We have fresh artwork by Vanion and by fawn{G}. We are also pleased to announce the initial appearance here of artist BKHOOK. Now a member of the team, BKHOOK wishes our readership to know, I cannot even hope to come close at producing in my art scenes the colorful richness Master Norman has so expertly written in his books of Gor. I am pleased however, to make available free Gorean screensaver/wallpaper scenes for your computer. They are best viewed in 800x600. Readers are invited to visit Gorean Graphics at (link-->www.icuimages.com/Gor.html) to view other creations by BKHOOK. All of these images can be used for free as wallpaper or screensavers. Suggestions for future scenes are welcome and BKHOOK can be contacted through admin@icuimages.com .  Please understand that because of the time involved with creating these scenes, BKHOOK is unable to do free personal orders.

Kajira Korner offers the perspective of a Master, Taybor, on the subject of feelings of relationship failure.

Our Tuchuk Haruspex gives background information on Tarot readings and on the preparation one goes through to be a rune reader. The horoscopes are of special importance during April, which is tax time in the USA.

kessia{Sage} gives us a taste of vinegars, perfect for the Easter egg dyeing season.

We have a special surprise to announce this month as an added treat. Mishel has begun making crossword puzzles with our readership in mind. Mishel developes Gorean crossword puzzles at http://fadedreams.org/GoreanPuzzles/PageOne.html and has made a link for the teaser developed for us at http://fadedreams.org/GoreanPuzzles/voice/GVCrossword.html. She offers two versions. The printable version is found at http://fadedreams.org/GoreanPuzzles/voice/GVCrossword.html and the interactive online version is found at http://fadedreams.org/GoreanPuzzles/voice/ie.html. Mishel has a crosswords through the email service as well. Readers are encouraged to have fun while checking their knowledge.

Meditation: Mud and Tarn Blood

Mud and tarn blood. Whatever your role in relationship and regardless of your place in any organization or community, you and everyone else are made of mud and tarn blood. Education, skills, life experience, mistakes, and successes provide our polish, but our essences remain mud and tarn blood. That is what we have in common. That is what we are. And we are proud of our nature.

It is all, like every great image, a metaphor. The mud tells us of earthy things. It gives us the zeal for life, the love of nature unpolluted, the respect for all things natural, and the celebration of our animal instincts bred deeply into the genes. The tarn blood speaks to us of aspirations and lofty achievement, of vision and mobility. It kindles within us the zeal for perfection, the recognition of beauty in all things, and the passion for activity. Strength and grace combine in all we do, whoever we are.

Everyday life is where we realize that we are a fusion of mud and tarn blood. The Gorean Voice is where we speak to each other to resonate with the mud and tarn blood in each of us.
