Answer: After a few hours the grandfather clock had noticeably lost time compared to the alarm clock. A grandfather clock keeps time by means of a pendulum, which oscillates at a lower frequency in Gor's lesser gravity. A wind-up alarm clock has a weighted wheel and hairspring, which is unaffected by changes in gravity. That was all the evidence our scientifically-minded young miss needed.
