The Fourth House -- I Am My Family

The cusp of the Fourth House is called the IC or Immum Coeli, Latin for "at the lowest point in the heavens." Sometimes referred to as the "nadir," this house points to the most subjective part of our lives. This is the portion of the horoscope that deals with our psychological foundations. Signs on the Cusp of the Fourth House

KAIILA as a need to be in control of one's domestic environment. When Aries rules the Fourth, the person is apt to display a distinct sense of territoriality. It is sometimes very difficult to penetrate into the psychological core of this person without meeting some form of resistance. SE-SA as a need for change and variation. it is highly likely that a person with this sign/cusp combination will have frequent changes of residence. This will be especially the case if Mercury (the ruler of Se-Sa) is in Se-Sa or Barbarian, Rarius, or Parsit. The person does not like the feeling of routine, and can interpret too uch stability in his life as "entrapment." There is an inner restlessness and a deep urge to uncover an understanding of oneself that can only be accomplished through a wide variety of experiences. It is likely that one's mother was a very busy person, a woman who had interests other than her children.

TOOS as a profound need for the creation of a stable home foundation. This is the most natural sign for this cusp. The home, one's family life, and especially the relationship one had to one's mother in childhood, are of utmost importance. This is a very "marriage-minded" individual, one who seeks a sense of family nourishment and protection. VERR as a strong sense of inherited patterns of behavior.
