The Gorean Voice recognizes, that there are a lot of web pages claiming to be Gorean. In viewing many, if not most of them, we find few that follow closely the writings, of John Norman, and tend to portray the html authors' vision of Gor. In that light, The Gorean Voice has an award that will be given monthly , to sites, that in its' opinion, are NOT representative of the Gorean way; but in fact are grossly false, or misleading. Fill out the application below, to have a gorean web site considered for this very prestigious award. |
Nominated by: Mazah Napa
I Nominate: Gorean Market of Ar
URL: http://sweetfirestr.tripod.com/index.html
Why: Capitalistic marketplace full of errors
Description: It is bad enough that her host the store on a free server and have the popups, but then the first item that they talk about is:
Coming soon!
Bazi tea set, complete with three small tea cups (no handles), sugar holder (rectangular), tea pot, and serving tray. Lovely small glass jar for tea.
Sorry I have yet to read of a bazi tea serve ... a blackwine serve with the fancy silver pot and bowls of sugars and cream but bazi tea nope.
Then we see slave jewelry ... which I will not complain about ... but then I see them selling prefab home stones with what looks to be Japanese characters formed in them for $29.95 ... sorry at that point I was gone.

I Nominate: Anona's Gor
URL: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Keep/3634
Why: Beacuse this site is very good! And it took long hard hours of work
Description: i made an incredibily selfish mistake of wearing 2 collars in my personal life at the same time, and i have to live with this *huge* failure in judgement on my part. The entrance to gates of Tharna is crowded, but strangely very quiet. Tall spearmen in blue helmets guard the gates with careful scrutiny. The gates are open to all men who come in peace to the fair City.
Walking along the streets you see men dressed in grey tunics with a shoulderband of colour signifying their caste. The men are sober hardworking people who are proud of their tasks, whether it be a Tarnkeeper working with those wild majectic birds, or the Caste of Peasants, know as the "Ox on which the Home Stone Rests", would seldom be forced to leave their lands, which they and their forefathers poured sweat and blood to make it fruitful.
Its Women walk in the streets unattended, with imperious step, and the men move to let them pass in a manner so not to touch. The Women are dressed in fabulously rich splendor of colours of Robes of Consealment, in contrast to the grey tunics of the men. In place of the veils, most often wore in other Cities, Their face is hidden behind a glittering beautiful yet seemingly cold face of silver masks; the Tatrix wears the gold mask.
Scurrying through the streets you might catch the sound of little bells ringing as a slave girl does errands for her Owner. The girl you noticed is wearing a chamisk of vibrantly deep crimson red silks trimmed in gold. Smiling to Yourself as You find the City seems to have a certain fetished for a multitude of body piercings complimenting the beauty of the kajirae.
It is rumoured that even the Tatrix, Herself, has a delicate piercing upon Her curvacious body. Her person is guarded well by the City Guards. Challenge to prove this rumour as truth, may and will result in DEATH!
