Greetings Masters,
Greetings Mistresses,
Hello slaves,

As lissa’s time grows near, and the end of writing this column becomes the truth. She decided she would dedicate this column to the unowned/Free slaves of Gor. Because lissa, herself is one of you, and has shared your pains and your triumphs. She has been pondering just what she could leave behind. Something that would in fact make everything she's said conceivable. So desperately has she tried to give her own take on this world we all love so very much, and the hardships that are contained within it. The Gorean lifestyle is not an easy lifestyle to live and there are some very harsh lessons to be learned there, when striving to be the best Gorean you can be.

Have you ever read something that has opened your eyes much bigger than you had ever dreamed possible. And in that awakening, cried? Cried not for the simplistic nature in which it came. But cried for the content and for the truth in understanding that what that person had written. That has happened to lissa, and it happened a very long time ago. In re-reading that something, she has discovered she is back at that place once again, and she's cried for a whole different set of reasons now.

A letter to the lost. It was written by _Marcus_of Ar, and can be found at www.thegoreancave.com As a disclaimer, lissa would beg that you not steal nor corrupt this beautiful work of words. She would very humbly beg that you simply read it, feel it, and enjoy it.

A girl was never blessed to have met or talked with Master Marcus, he had gone before she discovered online Gor. She was blessed to have read that essay within the Silk&Steel website before it was taken down because of theft and misuse of its content. But she would like to take this opportunity to thank him, should he ever read this column, for his years of work, his countless essays, and his warmth in teaching.

It's an awful truth when you sit and ponder what has happened in your life, and the hardships that you have endured, only to find that what you thought was true, may not have been true at all. That it was corrupted long ago by demons of exposure and vanity. It causes you to struggle, and it causes you to doubt your very essense in the words you once held so dear.

This life, the life of a slave. Held together with shreds of beauty and wonder. With bonds of the heart, and the mind. The giving of all of yourself, not parts, to something far more powerful than yourself. A force and a will much stronger than anything you can imagine, and more giving than you would have thought. Thats the thumbtack in which a Gorean M/s relationship is held by. Yes, just that little thumbtack. It's not the backbone of being Gorean, it is simply a part of what a Gorean does. And sometimes, it just isn't done properly. The free don't have to be right, they don't have to be wrong, they just have to be. And we must follow. That is our job. That job in and of itself will give you the greatest joy and the deepest sorrow. Sometimes it won't all be at once and sometimes it will be breathtakingly together.

It will be within those moments that your heart and soul is tested. Tested with good and bad, and your only choice will be to obey or fail. It will be up to you, and to you alone to choose.

It was within that moment that lissa re-read that essay, and decided if nothing else was true, her need for silence and reflection were paramount to her growth. You can find her swimming somewhere, reaching out her hand, and hoping that maybe she will find the truth in the end.

With that said, she would like to personally thank everyone who contributed to my time here. And a very special thank you to Master BennKar for his patience and understanding. And to kessia who was an excellent proofreader and friend. I would like to welcome the next author of this column and may she receive the wonderful gifts I have here. Wishing everyone a very wonderful journey.

always,

lissa
