Tuchuk Haruspex’s Reading of the Runes

The left rune represents an important element of the past:

Kenaz is the rune of light and knowledge, driving away darkness, ignorance and revealing hidden truth. It also brings images of friendship and comfort together with understanding. This is knowledge that comes in bits and pieces as it is needed, such as coming in the form of sudden inspiration and periods of creativity.

The middle rune represents a deciding element of the present:

Hagalaz represents hail and thus destructive forces but appears in this reading in the reversed position. Usually it represents such things as loss, a hard journey and sorrow to learn life’s lessons but, in the reversal, might mean a caution or warning not to leave some of those lessons unheeded. The destruction alluded to in this rune, however, is not totally negative since often in life things must come to an end before we can move on to changes, new possibilities and goals and a fresh beginning. Most definitely this is a wake up call to pay attention to avoid repeating any past mistakes.

The right rune represents a critical element of the future:

Manaz represents mankind and reminds us that, even though we often feel alone in our experiences, there are others who have been through the same things. Practically, it reminds us of our personal connections to those closest to us and those around us – friends, family and the community we belong to, then, in the broader sense, our relationship to deity and nature. This all can serve as a reminder that our actions affect more than just ourselves and that, when we put something in motion, it will eventually come back to us as well.
