<Longinius> Greetings, girl.

<vanea> Greetings Master Longinius, vanea is very happy you have agreed to this personal interview for Master of Se`Var.

<Longinius> It's good to talk to you girl.

<vanea> Master Longinius, your face has become a familiar one here on irc, could you tell us a bit about yourself and where you are from?

<Longinius> I am of the caste of warriors. I recently retired from active participation in the art of war, but I am still very much a warrior.

<Longinius> I was born in Southern California, but I've moved all over with my duties as a warrior. Now I have settled in the Southeast USA.

* vanea grins..a wonderful choice no doubt, Master Longinius.

* Longinius chuckles.

<Longinius> No doubt.

<Longinius> You say that, girl, because you live there too?

* Longinius grins evilly.

<vanea> ohh of course not Master, vanea grins.

<vanea> What are you doing now that you have retired, Master?

<Longinius> I work with computers, buying for corporations.

<Longinius> We maintain a variety of networks in the area.

<vanea> So you enjoy the technical aspects of computers as well as the communication with people on irc eh Master?

<Longinius> I do. I find working with computers challenging. I think they are wonderful tools, and we use them well here on IRC.

* vanea grins... now that you mention IRC, Master, could you tell the readers just what being on IRC has been and means to you?

<Longinius> We've made good use of IRC in meeting men of like minds, gathering together now to share with each other our thoughts and beliefs.

<Longinius> Being on IRC means a lot to me. But more than that, it's provided a chance to meet men who look at the world we live in with a very similiar perspective to my own.

<vanea> How long have you considered yourself Gorean, Master?

<Longinius> Almost two years. When I started reading the books, something clicked. Then meeting the people I have met here it was like a homecoming. To know that it's not just me that thinks this way and believes the things that I do.

<vanea> How did you discover IRC, Master Longinius? Did you know there were channels where people gathered to speak of these matters when you first began with IRC?

<Longinius> I came to IRC looking for more information about Gor. I had read several of the books, borrowed from a friend. I wanted to complete his set, and get one of my own.

<Longinius> In the process of doing that, I found that there was much more than just the books online. There were real men who saw the same things in them that I did.

<vanea> Master Longinius, how much of this lifestyle do you take into your life offline, and how has it affected your life offline?

<Longinius> I take a great deal of this lifestyle into my life offline. It's not about owning slaves, or treating women as inferior, so I don't find a great deal of trouble with it. My personality is such that few people argue with me, male or female, and females around me seem to sense where they should be.

<Longinius> Quietly submissive is a good term to use here. <chuckle>

<vanea> What have you found to be the most difficult problem with this medium, Master?

<Longinius> Hmmmm, there are many problems with this medium. For one, each and every thought must be written out, and that causes some people a great deal of trouble. A sad statement on our education system.

<Longinius> But I think the biggest problem is one of honesty...

<Longinius> There is no way to know exactly who you are talking to, until you meet them offline and look them in the eyes.

<Longinius> Until that happens, the person you talk to here on IRC could be anyone, or anything.

* vanea smiles as this brings her to some more personal type questions...

<vanea> Do you have a wife, a Freecompanion, or someone special in your life, Master?

<Longinius> I do have a Freecompanion. We have been together for 17 years. We met in one of my travels, and she has been my companion ever since.

<vanea> Is she a Freecompanion in the truest sense, Master?..Do you renew a contract and all each year with her? Does she share with you in your beliefs of this lifestyle?

* Longinius looks closely at the slave asking questions.

<Longinius> We have not yet, but it is my intention to do so. We talked about it at length before I retired, and we will have a ceremony shortly after she joins me here.

<Longinius> She shares with me in my beliefs in the Gorean philosophy. The lifestyle, as some practice it, is somewhat difficult for her, but she has been working hard to accept that part of it.

<Longinius> Our lives together have been quite in keeping with the Natural Order as it is described in the Gor novels. There are some things though, in living a Gorean lifestyle that are new, and difficult to accept.

<vanea> Could you perhaps be more specific Master, or give an example?

<Longinius> Slaves, and men using them, is the greatest hurdle for her. It goes against our Western culture, and it's not something that many women, especially free women consider in their day to day lives until they are confronted with it.

<Longinius> I've talked to enough slaves to see that even they have difficulty when they find out that they are indeed, only slaves...

<Longinius> often finding themselves on chains of more than one girl.

* vanea smiles

<vanea> Do you have children Master?

* Longinius nods his head smiling widely.

<Longinius> Indeed I do. I have two fine sons.

<Longinius> They are nearly grown, so it makes life at home a little easier, they spend a great deal of their time on their own social lives. :)

<vanea> Are they aware of what a Gorean Lifestyle might be?

<Longinius> I have shared with them some of the philosophy of Gor. Even sharing with them the 10 dictums that Marcus has so succinctly written out.

<vanea> Do you own any slaves, Master Longinius?

<Longinius> I do not. I have owned them, online, but I have not owned a girl offline, and do not own any now online.

<vanea> What do you look for in a slave besides being pleasing and obedient Master?

<vanea> Are looks, age, wealth important or factors?

<vanea> again vanea tosses up the disclaimer for viewing...and winks

<Longinius> I think looks are overrated, though I won't deny I prefer a pretty slave. But that said, I would trade a pound of pretty for an ounce of truly being able to be pleasing.

<Longinius> Wealth is interesting, since slaves according to Gorean law do not own anything. I don't think it has any bearing to me. If what she owns is important to her, there is a good likelihood it will be a barrier to her at some point.

<Longinius> If I were to own a slave, it wouldn't be because of anything material she had to offer. To me, all she has to offer is herself.

<vanea> Much has been said over the years concerning "Gamers"..would you say you have encountered just as many females as males that do not take our lifestyle serious Master?

<Longinius> I would say the numbers balance. There are men that *want* to be Gorean, but when it comes to living it, they find that they just don't have it. And for every man that finds this, I'm sure there is a woman, slave or Free that can't live it either.

<vanea`> Master Longinius, has there been anything particularly meaningful that coming to online Gor has done for you?

* Longinius smiles.

<Longinius> Actually, coming to online Gor has opened the door to meeting men offline. While I enjoy online Gor, and the sharing of thoughts here with the men. I think the chance to meet these men offline as meant the most to me.

<Longinius> I intend to meet even more of them in the coming months.

* Longinius smiles again.

<vanea`> now for some lighter type questions Master...

<vanea`> What do you do when not working or on IRC, Master?

<Longinius> I enjoy training and working with my dog. I own a very intelligent Labrador Retriever, and I think if I had done more work with her, and gone hunting more with her, she might have been an excellent hunting dog.

* vanea` can't help but smile, thinking all that training can be useful in many things.

<Longinius> More than that, I enjoy participating in some of the things my sons get me involved in. Going to watch my sons play baseball or football is the highlight of my week. :)

<vanea`> Do you have a favorite kind of music you like, Master?

* Longinius chuckles, looking at a slave wondering if she needs training.

<vanea`> who, vanea, Master?..

* vanea` grins...always, Master

* Longinius nods and laughs.

<Longinius> I like that ol' time a'rock n' roll. LOL

<Longinius> My favorite bands have to be Led Zeppelin...and the Beatles!

<vanea`> What about your favorite food, Master?

<Longinius> Hot and Spicy!! I love Mexican food!

* vanea` laughs..kind of like your slaves Master?

<Longinius> Exactly!

* Longinius grins.

<vanea`> Whats your favorite color, Master Longinius?

<Longinius> My favorite color is Kelly Green. But blue will do in a pinch. :)

* vanea` flips through her wardrobe....uh..what wardrobe..and grins up at Master.

* Longinius chuckles, thinking green silks would fit well on the slut.

* vanea` laughs and tries to get back on focus.

<vanea`> Where would you like to travel that you have never been, Master?

<Longinius> I would like to travel to Australia. I even considered sailing there, selling the house and taking up life on a boat.

* Longinius smiles, thinking of all the places he would visit in his sailor fantasy. :)

* vanea` straightens her shoulders a bit more, Master, what would you like to be doing in 20 years?

<Longinius> I would like to be living in the country, in a home large enough that any of my friends might visit anytime they wished. That it would be a place for Gorean men to gather, with or without property if they so decided.

* Longinius smiles.

* vanea looks at the waterclock...ohh well Master Longinius, this girl thinks she could just talk to you all night but must get this to press. vanea wishes to thank you so much for allowing her to speak with you, Master.

<vanea> may vanea be allowed to conclude this interview, Master?

* Longinius smiles and nods.

<Longinius> It is concluded, vanea. You are dismissed.

* vanea leans forward, pressing her lips to Master's feet...whispering softly...Thank you Master

<Longinius> Be well, girl.
