A Tarn’s Eye View

Tal! Welcome to the 77th issue of The Gorean Voice.

In this Issue

The Geography department is back with notes on relative elevations.

In the Booknotes department, Socrates completes Explorers of Gor, the jungle adventure that becomes momentous for the affairs of both people and Priest-Kings,

The Maps and Scenic Images department remains as a permanent offering that will be updated periodically to provide easy access to the maps and scenic illustrations developed by Xerxex.

Mishel’s magnificent Crossword Puzzles continue to captivate our readership, this month continuing Explorers of Gor.

The Turian Gardener copes with the realities of early winter in the Pleasure Gardens department.

The Recipes department returns with suggestions for family-based activities.

kaylee{G} is absolutely poetic in the Slave Heart department as she speaks of love and giving.

In the Kajira Korner department, kajira{Master} helps with holidays on a budget.

Meditation: Holiday Spirit

It is amazing that, completely independently, the articles by kaylee {G{}, kajira{Master}, and holly{B} complement each other so perfectly. Each focuses on aspects of prioritizing love and family in the holidays in the midst of the pressures of seasonal commercialization. Each draws on the strengths we all possess to help us maintain the centrality of who we are and which values we must stress in our relationships and families. Each shows a part of how to keep the family spirit as part of the holiday spirit. And each does so absolutely wonderfully.

I read the Gorean Public Boards and The Gorean Voice and I see people giving of their time and attention and life experience to people whom they will never meet face-to-face, and I am moved at the beauty of that giving.

I customarily use this Meditation section to encourage people to contribute to The Gorean Voice as a way of supporting others who “are of a Gorean nature,” as Norman once phrased it. I wish this month to broaden that to encourage our readership to give in strength, in whatever ways seem appropriate, during this holiday season, in ways that few will ever find out about. Make a silent difference for someone, simply because you can.

I wish you all a heartfelt peace.

Watch for This

The Art department may appear during the month, and if so, word will be placed on the Gorean Public Boards.

The Free Woman, Health, and Reviews departments will return. A map of the rainforests is in progress as a complete Gor map is being prepared section by section.

Because there are always proposed contributions in progress, The Gorean Voice is preparing other really nice surprises for you as well.

Possibilities for Contributors

There are many possibilities for contributors. If any of these departments appeals to you as a place where you might find a writing or other artistic niche, and of course, if you have ideas for a new feature and are willing to help, then read the guidelines for authors and let us know! Although some possibilities are more appropriate for one person to manage over time, many departments benefit from many contributors. Even if you are thinking about contributing only once, say, through Gorean humor or a book review or perhaps a poem, you should still contact me.
