Tal and Greetings, Pantheus has allowed me to take over the lifestyle in the monthly addition of the Gorean Voice. It is my hope that I will be able to give you, as readers, articles that will interest you and provoke you to think. I would also like to thank Gabriel and kaylee for all the articles and time they have put into this section as well. If anyone has any issues that they wish me to address please feel free to email me at Amara , and I will do my best to answer your questions. I hope that everyone will have a wonderful holiday. Sincerely, With the holiday season soon approaching, I see people more worried about the gifts that they will be giving. Instead of what the holidays truly represent. And with the recent events that have taken place that surprises me. The holidays should not be about gifts but about being able to spend time with loved ones. Enjoying things that they already have instead of what they want or do not have. But this is the standard that society has placed upon us. Through the years they have made it so that people feel they can only find true happiness with "things" and money. The higher powers have made it where people have forgotten about nature and the beauty of the world. Instead they are worried about making more money and more things to make their life easier. I used to fall victim to this. I worked to gain nice things. But since discovering the Gorean lifestyle, that desire to have things has disappeared. I care now more for people, for nature and life in general. I still work a great deal, but now it is at a job that I genuinely like. The people may drive me a bit crazy because of their lack of work ethics, but it is something that I still enjoy doing. Last Sunday morning, I set my alarm for 5am I did not have to go to work and no pressing issues to attend to. I simply wanted to view the Leonid meteor shower. Where reports showed that there were going to be anywhere between eight hundred to four thousand shooting stars go across North America. It was reported also that this was to be the biggest meteor shower since 1966 but not as big as the one that occurred then. The meteor shower that occurred in 1966 had thousands of shooting stars per hour. So there I was all bundled up in the early morning, the coolness of the air making it very comfortable to recline back and watch. I did not have to take any special equipment out to view this shower. All I needed was a nice clear spot and maybe a jacket to keep warm. As I was sitting there watching all the lights some were going very fast. While others just seemed to slowly drift by. It was very relaxing. No cars were driving by, no people talking just the outdoors and me. That night several deer and other wildlife came out of hiding. They looked at me, and continued about their business. I was very disappointed that it ended. I think I could have stayed and viewed the display of bright colors for hours. To me enjoying this display of nature means more to me then any "thing" will ever mean to me. It is something that I will be able to tell my children and my grandchildren. And it is much more memorable then some latest fad. So this holiday season please spend time with loved ones enjoying what you have instead of what you wish you had. I wish everyone well, ~Amara~ |
