Here we are again, with another Gorean Tarot reading. These readings are something synne has used for introspection, self-therapy of a sort, and for learning how to view her problems objectively. The cards tend to direct her attention places it would normally never wander, allowing her to catch insights she would not without having it pointed out to her. She hopes the same kind of guidance finds its way to those who take the time to read the readings each month.
synne would like to take a moment to thank those of you who take
the time to read this column from month to month. She has always
enjoyed the Voice, and sincerely hopes she can contribute to others
enjoying it as well. She begs, if you are curious, or would like to
volunteer to be the next name in lights, please just email the Voice
and say so! synne can read for strangers as well as friends, and
enjoys it immensely.
This month, there are two featured readings, requested by people who
wrote in to The Gorean Voice. Thank you for writing, and synne hopes
you enjoy!
For misha:

First Position - Six of Staffs - In the first position, a card often
refers to either what has led up to this point, or underlying factors.
The six of staffs is a happy card, full of triumph, acclaim, but might
speak of things which feel good but aren't, such as an overabundance of
pride or conceit, both of which often follow one's personal triumphs.
Feeling good about your accomplishments is an important part of
success, but too much pride can lead to arrogance and self-inflation.
When you see this card, check that you are not feeling superior to
others. It is easy to forget that individual achievement is not really
individual at all. Our talents begin in Nature, develop with the love
and support of others, and only in the end express through us. How can
we indulge in excess pride?
Second Position - Two of Goblets - In the second position, a card often
represents the dilemma at hand, or the current situation. This card
represents connection, truce, and attraction. Whenever two forces are
drawn together, there is the potential for bonding. This card can stand
for the union of any two entities - people, groups, ideas, or talents.
In readings, the two of goblets tells you to look for connections in
your life, especially those that are one-on-one. Now is not the time to
separate or stay apart. It is the time to join with another and work as
a partnership. If you are in conflict, look for truce and the chance to
forgive and be forgiven. If you are struggling with two choices or
tendencies within yourself, seek to reconcile them.
Third Position - Ubar - A card in the third position often represents
either the outcome of the current situation, a tool to achieve the
desired outcome, or a warning of what might happen if you are not
careful. The Ubar is a big card, as his name suggests. He speaks for
fathering, structure and authority, regulation. He is the typical
Ubar, in control, and keeping all in line while at the same time
allowing those under his rule to flourish. As the regulator, he is
often associated with legal matters, disciplinary actions, and
officialdom in all its forms. In chaotic situations, the Ubar can
indicate the need for organization. Loose ends should be tied up, and
wayward elements, harnessed. In situations that are already
over-controlled, he suggests the confining effect of those constraints.

This second reading is for Trinity Shadowheart:

First Position - Cylinder - In the first position, a card often refers
to either what has led up to this point, or underlying factors. This
card is one that often frightens people because it means suden change,
and downfall, but they forget that hand in hand with this goes the
card's most important meaning - revelation. Some things in our lives
will never be plain to us until we are forced to look at them closely.
If it is unpleasant to do, sometimes the force to make us look is
rather harsh. Sudden crises are life's way of telling you to wake up.
Something's wrong, and you're not responding. Are you too full of
pride? Expect a blow to your ego. Are you holding back your anger?
Expect the dam to burst. Are you stuck in a rut? Expect a surprise. How
you respond to the Cylinder's change makes all the difference in how
uncomfortable the experience will be. Recognize that the disruption
occurred because it was needed. Perhaps embracing the change is too
much to ask, but try to find the positive in it. In fact, you may feel
tremendous release that you have finally been forced in a new
direction. You may have a burst of insight about your situation and
reach a new level of understanding about it.
Second Position - Two of Shields - In the second position, a card
often represents the dilemma at hand, or the current situation. The
two of shields suggests juggling, flexibility, and fun. It speaks of
finding the balance between the important things and enjoying doing so.
There is nothing quite like the feeling of being graceful and
effective at the same time. This card lets you know that you can
juggle all demands made upon you. In fact, you will relish the
excitement of every hurdle. If you do not feel this level of confidence
right now, this card asks you to believe in yourself. You have all you
need to meet your every goal and more. Embrace the challenge. Remember
to go with the flow, and above all, enjoy doing well!
Third Position - Youth of Shields, reversed - A card in the third
position often represents either the outcome of the current situation,
a tool to achieve the desired outcome, or a warning of what might
happen if you are not careful. When a card is reversed, that means its
particular energies are lessened, or in some case are not lessened, but
perhaps you are working against them instead of harnessing them
properly. The Youths are messengers. They deliver gestures of spirit -
opportunities offered to you to change your destiny. A gesture may be
small (a bit of news, passing comment or casual encounter) or huge (a
major turning point), but it always asks you to make a choice. Will you
go or stay, accept or decline? What you decide makes all the
difference. This particular Youth offers gestures of prosperity. He
encourages you to sample the wonders of the Shields suit - wealth,
abundance, security and solid achievement. Look for an opening that
promises enrichment, comfort, trust or the chance to make your dreams
real. This card can indicate pleasure and real-world enjoyment. As a
child, the Youth of Shields encourages you to have fun with your body,
skills and possessions in a light-hearted way. Revel in the delights of
being alive on the Earth at this time.
A girl sincerely hopes the readings have proven enlightening, or at
least fun. ;)
