Keeping Your New Year’s Resolution

By prism{HS}

Greetings Masters,
Greetings Mistresses,
Greetings slaves,

Happy New Year !!!!

It’s a new year with a new start. This one has many, many resolutions she has set for herself, probably like most of you. The main thing this one has set her sights on is getting healthy. That could mean several different things for some of you. For some, it could mean losing weight, stop smoking, or lowering your cholesterol.

No matter what you need to do, it is very hard when you do it alone. This year prism will dedicate her column to those of you who read it. If you have something you want help with, write in. If you need support with something, write in. This one understands that this is a once a month column, but she will be happy to support you through email as much as you need or find the resources to help support you.

Approximately 90 % of all Americans make at least one New Year’s resolution. Unfortunately, no matter how well-intentioned they are, most people fail to keep their resolutions. Here are a few ways you can ensure your own resolution success:

1. Set obtainable goals. Try not to set or make a list of things that are unrealistic. If you have a lot of weight to lose, try doing it 5 pounds at a time. If you want to quit smoking, just take each day by day. You can’t do it all in one day. It takes time, and patience will help.

2. Set frequent milestones and reward yourself often. If you’re losing weight, please don’t reward yourself with food. Challenge yourself: if I lose X amount of weight, I’ll get that pair of new shoes, or dress, or bracelet, or manicure, pedicure, whatever you feel is a reward for yourself.

3. Surround yourself with supportive people. Join a message board with people going through the same dilemma. Ask your loved ones and friends to help you.

4. Keep a journal. Writing everything down helps. In good moments and weak moments. Try it, you will find it really does do wonders.

It is really up to you.

Just always remember, “The small changes you make in life, could be big changes in you and your body and health!

prism would love to see you all around for a very, very long time. Let’s work together!

Thank you again, for your time.

Warmest wishes and a very happy new year!
