A Tarn’s Eye View Tal! Welcome to the November, 2005 edition, which is Volume VIII Issue 5, and is the 89th issue of The Gorean Voice.
We are really encouraging people to sign up for our reactivated email notification system! You can receive an email when each issue of The Gorean Voice is available for viewing! As always, your confidentiality is honored when you sign up. In this Issue In the Booknotes department, Socrates continues Savages of Gor. Tarl enters The Barrens with a mysterious trader, and we learn some Gorean vocabulary. The Geography department takes us to Polar Places. In the Poetry department, Myth characterizes the dysfunctional side of the social mythologies that Norman has warned us about, and Reservation Football illustrates a subtle, fanciful resistence to imposed ideologies that would keep us from our identities. In the Recipes department, holly{B} prepares for Thanksgiving with both online resources and easy-to-follow recipes. I have never deep-fried a turkey before, but now I know how! This just in from Mishel for the Crossword Puzzles department: “Tal and Kind Greetings! Well, we are at the end of another book, Rogue of Gor! In chapters 24-33, we find the lovely Miss Henderson is now Beverly, a slave, sent to attend Jason who has secretly made his way into the holdings of Policrates by posing as the courier carrying the topaz. However, Beverly never finds out who Jason is as she is blindfolded the entire time she serves Jason. Later chapters find Jason, Tasdron, and Callimachus all plotting to bring the captains of Port Cos and Ar’s Station, enemies of each other, together for a meeting. Does it work? Find out in this month’s puzzle of 62 words. The jigsaw of 300 pieces shows the sea gate to Policrates’ holdings. Enjoy and thank you for playing!!” The Gorean Voice sadly presents the, at least for the foreseeable future, farewell writing by kaylee for the Slave Heart department. The honesty and insight that she has favored us all with will be deeply missed. We wish her the very best in the direction that life is taking her, and we are confident that life has many wonderful experiences in store for her. Truly, kaylee: the staff, contributors, and readership all wish you well.
Watch for This At the time this issue goes to press, submissions from the other regular contributors have not arrived. As they do, we will include them. Because there are always proposed contributions in progress, The Gorean Voice is preparing other really nice surprises for you as well.
Possibilities for Contributors There are many possibilities for contributors. If any of these departments appeals to you as a place where you might find a writing or other artistic niche, and of course, if you have ideas for a new feature and are willing to help, then read the guidelines for authors and let us know! Although some possibilities are more appropriate for one person to manage over time, many departments benefit from many contributors. Even if you are thinking about contributing only once, say, through Gorean humor or a book review or perhaps a poem, you should still contact me.
I wish you well, Hersius
