BennKar Speaks

Greetings and welcome to the 65th issue of The Gorean Voice.

This month we are missing a few contributors from last month, but we still have most of the great columns you have come to enjoy. We have Socrates starting a review of book 11, Slave Girl of Gor, Hersius goes further in depth in discussion of the Northern Plains. And we have kessia{Sage} giving good recipes and ideas for Thanksgiving. Of course we also have excellent columns from Kittiara, prism{HS}, and kajira{Master}.

On a more technical note about The Gorean Voice, we have had in the past requests to build some type of a search engine so that you could search the archived issues of TGV. As TGV does not ask for you to pay, nor do we recieve any money from advertising, we have not had the money to pay for this capability. However, with current internet serch engines, you can now search TGV for any name, word, or phrase you desire. I am going to have the instructions to do this added to the top of the Index page, but for this month I will also write the instructions here.

To search TGV, go to the Google web site - http://www.google.com. Now to search for a word, like “Vanion”, but only search the TGV web site, enter in the search box:
Vanion site:pantheus.com
then press the search button. This will retrieve all the pages from the TGV archives that contain any reference to Vanion. To do a search on any other word, or phrase, replace Vanion with the word or phrase you want. Just remember to include site: pantheus.com after what you are searching for.

Please note this is not meant as an endorsement of the Google search engine. There may be other search engines with this capability out there, its just that this is the one we know to use. If you have any problems using this capability, please write gorean_voice@hotmail.com. We’ll get you the help you need.

In my usual discussion, I want to ask you, our readers, to see if you have the time, and perhaps the knowledge to contribute to The Gorean Voice. I am pleased, and grateful, for the people that have come forward to help in the past months. I would also like to make sure that the people that have been contributing know that we (and you too) are grateful for their efforts over the past months (or even years). Even with that said, putting The Gorean Voice together each month can be a challenge to get enough for you, our readers, to appreciate each month.

So with that stated, let me again ask you to think if you have something to contribute to the Gorean Society. Even if it is only a one shot deal, you can feel more in touch and helpful to those choosing to live and enjoy this life. While we appreciate the help in any area, we are in highest need for new columnists in the following areas:

  • Lifestyle
  • Interviews
  • Debate
  • Community
  • Humor
  • Puzzles, crosswords, games
  • Photography
  • Philosophy
  • Dance
  • More...?

In addition, we are always looking for more artists as the current artists can contribute only so much from month to month. If you know of any artists that might be interested in contributing here (or perhaps you're a budding artist?), please make sure to ask and pass along our email address if they have any questions.

Last year I stepped forward to help this magazine by being its editor. But I can only do so much.
Put the effort forward and contribute to something you love. Contact us and let us know what you can do to help. The prestige and satisfaction in contributing to the Gorean community is something that you can't measure. So open your mind, think on what you can do, and write us before the next issue comes out.

Of course if you have an idea for a NEW feature and are willing to help, please let us at TGV know as well!

I wish you all well in the coming month,

BennKar
