A Girls Search Goes On

Locked away within her heart are feelings deep, that only One can release..

One to take away the mistrust learned, well, that took away her peace

Her belly burns with a flame so bright, she hides behind a wall

Forever searching, she yearns to find the One “to give her all”

As time goes on the fire dies, as those she finds brings pain

Where is that One to heal her heart and light that fire again

She looks for He whose hand is firm and makes her heed His word

The one to teach her trust again and release that frightened bird

As days go one she looks in vain, her eyes fill up with tears

For as the days and weeks go by, they soon turn into years

This bird of flight has lost her way her, confusion fills her mind

For as she searches, heart and soul, she slowly gets left behind

She loses sight of that which burns, so very deep inside

She ends her search in vain, content to meerly look to hide

The shadows dark, she steps inside, so no one else can see

The woman hurt so long ago, is scared to let herself be free

So let this girl, who tries her best, to be pleasing to all she serves

Just hide awhile amongst the dark, until she builds some nerve

Her heart locked tight, her heat controlled..her eyes still search for Him..
