Vision's Gor Magazine GOR MAGAZINE IS ALIVE AND WELL AND LIVING IN MANHATTAN. We here at THE GOREAN VOICE have been in contact with Darrell Benvenuto, owner of Vision Entertainment, the company who is working to publish the 26th Gor novel "Witness of Gor" and who has plans to publish "GOR MAGAZINE" a graphic-novel type publication which will illustrate stories based on the novels. The newest info we have: *Gor Magazine's initial release was postponed due to the buy-out of Random House books, along with the continuing collapse of the North American comics market. *Also, the magazine's future was dealt a blow when Canada decided its content was too risque for the Canadian market, closing the newsstand market in that country and further reducing the sales potential of the publication. *Vision moved its offices to Manhattan, during all this, which was reflected in an inability to update the web-site, further drying up the flow of information between the publisher and the interested readers. *There has been a tepid response to the subscription site from the on-line fan base, (they do realize that the site has been down for a while) and the publishers need evidence of the interest of the thousands of fans out there in order to make this a viable endeavor. There is, however, some good news! *Vision has been working on securing distribution, and an excerpt of GOR Magazine, in full color, will be shown in Heavy Metal Magazine, followed by direct subscription information, to Heavy Metal's 230,000+ readers. While there is not yet a date for this issue, it will be right after it that Gor Magazine will then launch. *The author is writing new information on Gor to be placed in *every* new issue of the magazine. Topics range from why the Priest-Kings began the voyages of acquisition, to how they enforce the limitations on technology within the castes. *The author also plans to answer letters from fans of the novels that will discuss issues such as the technology of the Priest-Kings. Direct subscription info as we currently have it:
Cost: $39.00/6 issues.
