Scrolls of a free woman - A Portrait of a Lady By Nyre "I never thought," Tab was saying, "that I would find a free woman of interest." He had one arm about Midice. Raiders of Gor "A free woman!" suddenly exclaimed Glyco, startled. Gorean free women were held accountable to their status during the length of time they were indeed free. As it is well known Goreans lived lifetimes past ours on Earth, the art of being a woman would not fall under an apprenticeship for a Gorean woman, they would have spend years acquiring its tastes, and borders. Be that as it may, my topic is in accordance with today?s Gorean free woman and some differences in how she could easily stand out in the crowds of hundreds of women today with regard to properly dressing. While standing on a busy street corner using perception as your only guide, can you determine among females who would fall into the class of Lady, and who would not? Further in using perception only, can you name the traits that determined why this particular female made the cut, and the others did not? Using my perception I took a look at what I saw on my own street corner and below is my scribbling of this activity. Over 80% of today's women wear pants, either in a casual sense or denim. None of the above garments, or perceptions would fall into the distinctive expectations of what a lady would attire herself in. Let me present you another list, and we will compare the differences between modern messy fashion, and classic fashion worn by a Lady. Dress pants that flares slightly at the bottom covering the shoe purposely, with a crisp white blouse neatly tucked in, possibly a belt to complete the look. The trousers should not be defined as masculine in any form; the lines should be crisp and clean, and feminine. To answer part one of my own question, While standing on a busy street corner using perception as your only guide, can you determine among females who would fall into the class of Lady, and who would not? The answer is simple; yes you can use perception as a guide to classing women. By comparing the two above lists of fashion several details stand out as a marker, that marker is elegance, confidence, and simplicity. My first point of what makes a lady is simple, her ability to radiate elegance, and simplicity as an art in dressing, rather then throwing on the first available garment, and running out the door. Can I name the traits in regards to the perception of a Lady, yes I can. A 'lady' dresses for herself, for the potential mate to come, for the partner already with her, a woman dresses for no one least of all herself. That a male of Earth may not even know what clothing his wife owns, or what she buys, would be unthinkable to most Goreans, even those who stand in free companionship.
